The place of art in NYC where everything seemed possible. The space (their 3rd physical location) closes at the end of May. Co-founder, Jeanette Ingberman passed on last year. Ms. Ingerman and Papo Colo’s creative center for culture, art, and inclusive mindfulness will evaporate from our city. Many of the exhibits I saw at the Broadway space in the 1990’s and early 2000’s transformed my own work. I saw work by artists chosen from such a varied lot that it was next to impossible not to feel the energy of putting the show together. I also learned much about exhibiting work – how to show tough and beautiful pieces without forgoing the consideration for space and design. This is only a tiny bit of what I  have to say…but for now…

– Fever

– Comic Power: Independent/Underground Comix, U.S.A.

– Let the Artist Live!

– Endurance

– Way Cool

– The Shape of Sound

– Public Notice: Art and Activist Posters 1951-1997

– The Choice
