Feel Good Paintings for Bad Times

Posted on July 6, 2012

I am very very happy that Deborah Kass is having a retrospective at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh – Deborah Kass: Before and Happily Ever After, a Mid-Career Retrospective. Kass has always represented pop art good times at its cleverest. Her most recent series includes lyrics from Broadway shows and dance party anthems, along with Yiddish and political phrases. All wrapped up in bright gay pride parade colors with hints of black as the new black.

I’m going to get my New York self to Pittsburgh to see this show. Are you in? It opens in October.
